Amylase Test

Description
Amylase is an enzyme produced by the pancreas and secreted by the salivary glands. This test enables the assessment of the presence of pancreatitis, the confirmation of pancreatic cancer or the investigation of an acute persisting abdominal pain.
Testing moment
No fasting is necessary. Alcohol ingestion should be avoided 24 hours prior to the test. The urine : at random. A test generally required by blood and sometimes urine sampling.
