The IgM antibodies of the Hepatitis A virus are analyzed when somebody’s immunity is to be assessed or in order to confirm that an infection has recently occurred.
No fasting needed.
- Inconclusive or zero results for the IgM antibodies of Hepatitis A
- Indicates that a person is not immunized
- Positive results in terms of the IgM – HAV antibodies
- Confirms a recent immunity or infection
A blood test required first to confirm the presence of antibodies against Hepatitis A. One can be infected with the Hepatitis A virus from food, water or by an infected person. Vaccination remains the best means of prevention against this viral hepatic infection (the HavrixMD vaccine).
