Lactate Dehydrogenase (LD/LDH) Test

Description

LDH is an enzyme present in small amounts in the cells of the human body tissues and in the blood.

This test serves as a marker for cell lesions. Helps localizing the tissue damage and could indicate the affected organ or cells (isoenzymes LDH).

A test generally required in conjunction with other blood tests.

No fasting needed. Exercise should be avoided prior to sampling.
