Testing moment
Upon the very first visit, this medical test is performed after a 12 hour fasting. If the glucose result under fasting conditions is outside the normal values, then the physician may prescribe a simplified one-hour oral glucose tolerance test, which does not call for any fasting, or a 2-hour test, provided a 12-hour prior fasting has been observed.
